Toddler Rescued From Hot Car In Walmart Parking Lot

A two-year-old boy was rescued from a hot car after he was found locked inside the scorching vehicle in a Walmart parking lot.

Shoppers at the Georgia store spotted the toddler in the car, which was turned off and had the windows rolled up, according to the McDonough Police Department.

When officers arrived to the Atlanta-area emergency, they forced their way into the car and removed the little boy, police report.

They say he was taken to the hospital to be checked out and later released. According to police, the child’s father has been arrested for cruelty to children.

Authorities aren’t sure how long the boy was locked inside the car, but the temperature was 86-degrees outside and the inside of the car could’ve heated up to 104-degrees in just 10 minutes, according to ABC News meteorologists.

Amber Rollins, director of the national nonprofit KidsAndCars.org, says officers’ “quick action literally could have been the difference between life and death for this young child.”
