Carole Baskin has been under intense scrutiny ever since “Tiger King” came out. To review, Netflix’s latest true crime documentary exposes the world of some of the biggest exotic wild animal collectors in the US and tells the story of the rivalry between her and Joe Exotic.
One of the more intriguing storylines involves the disappearance of Carole’s ex-husband, Don Lewis. The series implies that she killed Don and fed him to the big cats – a claim she’s vehemently denied. But as we told you, a Florida sheriff is asking for leads in the case. Now we hear that one of her ex-boyfriends has interesting take on the situation.
Jay Bakyal dated Carole after Don disappearance but before her current marriage toHoward Baskin. Like Don before him, Jay filed for a restraining order against her. In the 2002 request, he revealed that he’d asked her what would happen if Don came back. She allegedly replied, “Dead bodies cannot talk.” Jay’s request – like Don’s – was denied. The investigation is ongoing.
As if things couldn’t get worse for Carole, now some of her former employees are attacking her Big Cat Rescuefor deceptive business practices. For instance, she claims that the place is a wildlife sanctuary, but they’re saying it was more like a breeding place. Bay News 9 spoke to Carole and her former workers and pointed out the discrepancies.
