Cleveland Bites with Jen Picciano September 17th

The Food Truck Challenge is back at Crocker Park October 2nd. They will have local food, live music and you will be able to vote for your favorites!

The Rice shop in the Van Aken District is getting close to opening! Per owner Anthony Zappola it looks like they will be open the end of September or early October.

Crocker Park Wine Festival is Friday September 17th and Saturday the 18th. Bearden’s Food Truck, Burntwood Tavern / Leo’s Italian Social, Hot Chicken Takeover are some of the vendors participating in this event. One day tickets are $35 or $55 for both days. That includes 10 tasting tickets per day and souvenir wine glass. Additional taste tickets are available on site in packs of 10 for $10.

Slyman's Tavern in Mentor has temporarily closed due to labor shortage earlier this week. All employees who were working were offered jobs at within the Slyman family of restaurants.

LBM has a new menu and new covid policy which requires vaccination proof for guests dining indoors, or negative test 72 hours prior. You can still use the patio or to go options.

A new wine bar is opening in Cleveland, CHERIE (AS IN“ MONCHERIE”). It will be located in the Flats East Bank along the boardwalk. It is a French inspired wine bar & lounge with a tentative opening date: around thanksgiving. The colors are inspired by the colors of wine, burgundy’s, merlots & roses as well as greenery and florals you might encounter somewhere in Europe. Swanky couches in rich velvet give a living room lounge style seating. Some of their menu items include: 

  • Small plates & shareable appetizers; charcuterie boards, assorted flatbreads, shrimp cocktails, ahi tuna tartare & beef carpaccio
  • Wine of course. They will also have 5 or 6 craft cocktails on the menu as well as a full bar.

Swensons is coming to Brooklyn. To celebrate the beginning of construction, from 5-7p on Tuesday they are parking their food truck at the site, 7414 BrookparkRd. The first 100 customers get a free Galley boy! 

Bad Tom Smith Brewing has permanently closed their Ohio City Brewery & Tap Room. The impact and unpredictability of Covid-19 prevented them from seeing a sustainable path forward in Cleveland.
