Executive coach, Melody Wilding, says do something you like before going to work. That could be anything you enjoy such as watching the news while you drink your coffee, meditate or even taking a walk or exercising. As long as you are doing something that brings you joy before heading into the office you can start your day on the right foot because you are in a good mood.

Don't let your work commute stress you out. We cannot control everything around us but you can step back and take a minute to breathe. Traffic jams, train delays and other drivers can cause us anxiety and frustration. Taking a couple deep breathes can rest your nervous system to feel calm and composed.

Start paying attention to the things that add stress or drain you in the morning prior to heading to work. If you can recognize what causes you stress in your morning routine you can make small tweaks to help ease you through. Try breaking up those stressful activities with something you do enjoy to alleviate your tension. For some it is scrolling through their phone and checking emails.

Happiness does not have to come from work itself. Your happiness at work comes from you, according to Psychologist Cicely Horsham-Brathwaite. She says "Work doesn't have to be the thing that contributes to your happiness, you bring your happiness to work." This mindset will help you realize that you do not need outside forces to make you happy. All it takes is having a positive outlook on life.
