TORONTO, ON -- It was a homecoming night for both Josh Naylor and Cal Quantrill who are both from the Toronto area, and they both showed out in front of their friends and family. Josh Naylor blew the game wide open in the 3rd inning when he drilled a two-run blast to left field to give the Guardians a 5-0 lead. Cleveland starter Cal Quantrill left no room for doubt for the Guardians, cruising through 7 full innings of shutout baseball. The Guardians' pen shut the door on the Jays to secure an 8-0 win.

Amed Rosario got the party going early when he ripped a 2-run RBI single with the bases loaded in the 3rd inning. Jose Ramirez drove in three of his four total RBI in the 4th inning on a no-doubt 3-run homer to right field.

The red-hot Guardians will take on the Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon in game two of the three-game weekend series. The first pitch is set for 3:07 at the Rodgers Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
