Smokey Fights For Musicians' Royalties In Front Of Congress

Smokey Robinson testified before congress a few days ago on behalf of artists who are not getting proper royalties on their songs recorded before the an arbitrary date in 1972.

The thing that struck me most about Smokey's testimony is the unique prospective he has because of his longevity in the business. Watch him describe how he gets paid for his solo hits vs. how he gets paid for for his earlier songs with the Miracles.

One of the few times C-SPAN didn't put me to sleep.
