A family in Turlock, CA was alerted to thieves attempting to steal a catalytic converter from their SUV in the middle of the day.
You can hear a tool being used to separate the catalytic converter from the exhaust system - probably a reciprocating saw. The family was probably alerted after hearing their car alarm go off. The thieves stop for a moment and then continue cutting.
The family exited the house wielding paintball guns which they immediately begin firing at the would be thieves. Lucky for them, the thieves also were nice enough to park their car in front of the yard so I'm sure they got a good look at the license plate.
The family has had 6 catalytic converters stolen from their vehicles.
