CLEVELAND – Spearheaded by “The Bloomdaddy Show” and in partnership with the Cleveland Guardians, Newsradio WTAM 1100 filled a truck for Providence House and raised more than $20,000 for the crisis nursery on Friday. The all-day event was held in Gateway Plaza on a picture-perfect day starting at 5 a.m. with Mike Snyder right up to first pitch of the Guardians-Red Sox game.

Items collected included baby clothes, diapers, paper towels, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, garbage bags, carpeting, games, toys, water and much, much more. Early in the day, STS Delivery Services brought down two pallets of goods donated by Chemsafe in Bedford and in the afternoon Buehler’s Fresh Food brought down a large donation. Besides contributions from WTAM listeners, donations rolled in from Union Home Mortgage, Sherwin Williams, the Kaulig Companies, Ken Ganley, Maple Heights Hardware, The Floor King and more.

See the video recap below.

Providence House is Ohio’s first and one of the nation's longest operating crisis nurseries among the 70+ in operation in the United States and Canada today. They offer free, voluntary, non-custodial emergency shelter to children newborn through twelve years old, actively living in crisis situations which place them at risk of abuse or neglect.
