Cleveland Police Investigations for October 18

Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating the following incidents from October, 18 2021.

A domestic violence and felonious assault shooting at 11809 Dove Ave. A 36-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to his side and right arm. A 35-year-old female shot the male after the two were involved in a domestic violence incident. Both parties were arrested for felonious assault and drug charges.  

A fatal overdose at 3824 W. 132nd. St. A 40-year-old male victim died from a fatal overdose.

A homicide investigation at 12121 Angelus Ave. A male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head. On October 17, 2021 at approximately 11am, officers responded to a Shotspotter alert and a call for shots fired in the 12100 block of Angelus Avenue. On arrival, the victim was found unconscious in his vehicle. EMS arrived and conveyed the victim to UH where he was pronounced deceased. Members of the Homicide Unit responded for investigation. No suspect or incident information is available at this time. This matter remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 216-623-5464. Anonymous information can be provided by calling Crimestoppers at 216-25-CRIME.

An escape incident stemming from an incident at 3400 Steelyard Dr. A 34-year-old male was arrested by security for stealing jewelry. The male complained of chest pains and was taken to MetroHealth for treatment. While at the hospital, the male attempted to escape and got out of handcuffs and ran out of room. Two officers were exposed to the suspect's blood while being detained. 

A serious crash on the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway near the Edgewater Park entrance. It was a two motor vehicle accident and one car flipped. The freeway was shut down for a period of time. 

A shooting at 3732 E. 147th St. A 45-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to upper arm. EMS took him to University Hospital. The victim was seated in a vehicle when another vehicle drove up and shots were fired.

A shooting at 2500 Metro Health Drive. A 22-year-old male suffered a gunshot wound to ankle and was taken to the hospital. The victim reports he was in a vehicle at Memphis Ave. and Pearl Rd. when a known suspect pulled up alongside him in a vehicle and shot him.

A shooting at 2500 MetroHealth Dr. A male walked into the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand. The incident occurred in the area of E. 14th St. and Superior Ave. The victim reported he was walking to his car when he heard shots fired and realized he was shot.
