Gibson Launches Comprehensive New Mobile App For Guitarists

Gibson is launching a new mobile app with everything a guitarist needs, whether they're killing time between sessions or about to take the stage.

The new Gibson App boasts a myriad of features designed keep guitarists informed, inspired and in tune!

Through the app, users can access Gibson's versatile guitar tuner, its innovative learning method, a selection of songs to play along with and the company's virtual guitar tech service.

The iconic American guitar company has also incorporated its award-winning Gibson TV channel into the app, meaning users can also access hours of content through the Gibson App.

"Our focus over the past few years has been all about our obsession with guitars, our connection with artists and on re-building our iconic brands of Gibson, Epiphone and Kramer," said Gibson Brands President and CEO James 'JC' Curleigh. "Now it's time to bring guitar playing to life for the current and next generation of guitarists in a modern, comprehensive and intuitive way."

At the core of the app is a new technology called Audio Augmented Reality, which was developed for Gibson in partnership with Swedish music tech company Zoundio. The app uses audio augmented reality to give guitarists an immersive guitar-learning experience, responding to a player and providing step-by-step instruction. All you need to get started, Gibson says, is a guitar and a pair of headphones.

"There has never been a better time to learn how to play guitar or to improve your guitar skills with all of the amazing tools available, but it can still be confusing and a little intimidating," said Gibson CMO Cesar Gueikian, of the wealth of guitar-related resources online. "So, we set out to create the Gibson experience, centered around real insights, innovation, and simple intuition all delivered through one app, the new Gibson App. Early feedback has been inspiring and we are excited to take this next step into even more guitar solutions from Gibson."
