Clevelanders Can Call This New Hotline For Info About The COVID-19 Vaccine

It just got easier to get answers to your questions about the coronavirus vaccine, including how to schedule an appointment to get it.

The City of Cleveland established a hotline that citizens can call to ask general questions about vaccine distribution and to determine how to get the vaccine if they’re eligible for it.

Ohio began receiving doses of the vaccine in December, which Gov. Mike DeWine hailed as a “historic occasion.”

“This is a historic occasion,” DeWine tweeted at that time. “This is hope. This is the beginning of the end of the pandemic…These safe and effective vaccines are a crucial step on our path back to normal.”

The Cleveland Department of Public Health is vaccinating residents in Phase 1A of the Ohio Vaccination Program. That includes health care workers, staff and residents of long-term care facilities and veterans homes, EMS responders and others.

Officials moved to Phase 1B this week, adding residents age 80 and older to the list, according to the Cleveland Department of Public Health.

The Ohio Department of Health has reported more than 836,000 total cases in the state as of Tuesday (January 19), the latest data available.

Call the hotline Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number is 216-664-2222.
