Is Michael Bublé Quitting Music?

Two years ago, Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato received the worst news parents could hear. Their 3-year-old son was diagnosed with liver cancer.

"It sucked and it still sucks because what we went through was THE worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent and maybe as a human being," the Grammy award winning singer tearfully told Australia's TODAY show last week. "I much rather would've it been me. I wished, many times I wished it had been."

Though Noah is now in remission, the experience changed his father's outlook and perception. "My whole being's changed," he told Daily Mail during an emotional interview. "My perception of life. I don't know if I can even get through this conversation without crying."

"I actually thought I’d never come back to the music business. I never fell out of love with music, I just needed to put it aside," he explained. But his son's bettering health helped give him the push to make music again.

"The two are inextricably linked, yet it wasn’t as straightforward as, 'My son’s recovered, I should make an album,’" he explained. "I’d told my manager I wanted to take a ten-year sabbatical, so I could hang out and be bad."

"But I missed the guys in my band. So once when Luisana had to go back to Argentina I said to them, 'Come over to the house, let’s drink, order pizza, play video games and jam," he continued. "They came over, we partied and we said, 'Let’s play some music.' I thought, 'Wow! This is fun.’"

"It was then that I realized I’d missed making music. I didn’t even know I’d missed it," he said. "This was about a year ago."

Now Bublé is gearing up to release what he considers his greatest album yet. Love is slated for a November 16 release. "I’m retiring from the business," he declared at the end of his interview. "I’ve made the perfect record and now I can leave at the very top."

However, as Us Weekly reports, his rep says the star "is absolutely not retiring.
