(Kent) -- Several events were held over the weekend to remember those killed or injured at Kent State University 44 years ago.

On that fateful night, students were protesting the Vietnam war when a confrontation escalated with the Ohio National Guard. It was then that 67 shots rang out killing four students and injuring others.

A candlelight memorial service was just one of the many events that took place this weekend at Kent State.
