(Cleveland) - Twenty-two year old William Hammons will draw his final breath in prison. The Maple Heights man was sentenced to life plus 100 years for the May, 2012 murder of Sharon Anderson-Norfus at the woman's apartment in Shaker Heights.
Hammons sexually assaulted the woman before strangling her. Anderson-Norfus' body was discovered the next day inside her apartment and Hammons was ultimately tied to the murder through DNA. Anderson-Norfus was a make-up artist and worked at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beachwood.
Hammons was not arrested in the case until a month after the woman's murder. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts including aggravated murder, rape, kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
