(Green) - Residents of an apartment complex in the Akron suburb of Green were concerned about their lives late Monday night, but not because of the cold weather. Summit County Sheriff's deputies say they received several 911 calls Monday night regarding shots being fired in the parking lot of the Briarwood Estates on Mayfair Road, many of which went through the walls of apartments. One of the bullets went through the headboard of a boy's bed.

Sheriff's Inspector Bill Holland tells WTAM 1100 they received several 911 calls from Briarwood Estates about 11:45 p.m. Monday. By the time deputies arrived, they saw that 25-30 rounds had been fired from a fully automatic rifle and a .40 caliber handgun. Seven cars were damaged and rounds entered three different apartments. One passed just six inches from the head of a 12-year-old boy. He was not injured, nor were any other residents.

One shooting suspect has been identified. He was injured from a bullet but is expected to survive. A second suspect's car is being sought. It's a silver or grey Hyundai with significant damaged to the front of the driver's side from hitting a tree and a rock as the driver was fleeing.

Lexis Wilson, 21, of Akron, is charged with obstruction of justice for providing false information to police.

Anyone with information about this shooting should call the Summit County Sheriff's Office at 330-643-2131.
