(Cleveland) - With the Indians fighting to get into the playoffs, the quest for the post season has generated a lot of interest in the Wahoo Club.
The 51 year old booster organization is seeing a big increase in membership requests, and Wahoo club President Bob Rosen expects that to continue if the Tribe goes deep into the playoffs.
Rosen reports they are even gaining members worldwide. Rosen says there are a lot of west coast residents on their roster, but they also have members in England, Germany, Israel and Canada.
Rosen explains that many are former Clevelanders who want to remain in touch with the team, but you don't have to be an out-of-towner to join the Wahoo Club.
He tells the Newsradio WTAM 1100, the club is for true Indians fans who stick with the team whether they are winning or losing. Rosen says they have numerous trips, events where players meet and greet luncheons, as well as public service projects.
Rosen says anyone can join at WahooClub.com.
