(Cleveland) - Cuyahoga County is making available a new identifcation card for the county's 90,000 veterans.

County Executive Ed FitzGerald announced the new ID cards during an event at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument on Public Square Memorial Day.

The cards are available to all county veterans for just $1. While the cards do not guarantee medical service or VA benefits, veterans can use the cards to begin the process of applying for benefits that are available to veterans.

The cards will be available in 30 to 60 days, according to FitzGerald.

Veterans can apply for them via a link which will be set up on the county website or veterans may apply in person on the first floor of the Cuyahoga County administration building downtown.
